Free Water Filters

6/30/2025

The City of Amboy has drinking water filters available at no cost to customers. This product is effective at reducing lead levels in drinking water. Please come to Amboy City Hall, 244 E Maine Street during office hours Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM to receive one.  Use filtered water for drinking, making food, and making baby formula. The available filters are certified against NSF/ANSI standard 53 and 42 to reduce lead and particulates in drinking water. Each household can pick up one filter and two replacement filter cartridges. The filters attach directly to water faucets.

The City of Amboy found elevated levels of lead and copper in drinking water in homes/buildings. We sampleted 20 homes in the community. Nine of of the 20 homes sampled had results above the 15 parts per billion (ppb) action level for lead. Four out of the 20 homes sampled were above the 1300 ppb action level for copper.

The City continues to work diligently to address our water quality issues quickly and effectively, in partnership with the MN Dept of Health and Bollig Engineering for guidance and support. If you have any questions, please call public works - Chris Kruse 507-380-9355
