Animal Services

The City of Amboy works with the Mapleton Police Department for animal control.  If there is an issue, you may contact Mapleton Police Department at 507-524-3091 or Dispatch 507-387-5601

  • Responding to stray animal complaints
  • Investigating dangerous animals
  • Impoundment
  • Barking dog complaints
  • Trapping nuisance wildlife and loose livestock
  • Ordinance enforcement

Dogs and cats in Amboy are required to have an Amboy animal license tag.  Tags may be purchased at city hall and cost is $1.00 per year or $5.00 per year for intact.  If your animal is loose, an animal tag would help in identifying where your pet lives.
